I’ve heard so many people say GPU mining is dead due to ETH moving to proof-of-stake. But I still see folks mining altcoins and turning a profit. Is it actually over, or are there just fewer options worth pursuing?

The ETH merge hit GPU miners hard, no doubt. But calling it “dead” might be premature. The real question is is bitcoin mining still profitable? That depends on what you’re mining and how efficiently you're doing it. Some miners have pivoted to coins like Ravencoin or Ergo, though these markets are much smaller. Others are leveraging dual mining setups or switching to speculative altcoins with potential. Hardware costs have also dropped, which can help ROI in the long term. It’s more about precision now than brute force. A smarter approach can still yield solid results, especially if you stay agile.
There’s definitely less hype than before, but it doesn’t mean it’s completely over. Just not as easy to turn profits without strategy.
