Single mom Jenny Aschler is arrested for child endangerment. Not trusting anyone to take care of her young daughter Maddie, she instead leaves her home alone for days. Jenny's fierce motherly instincts and fear of men leads Sergeant Benson to suspect she may have been a victim of child abuse. With help from Dr. Lindstrom, Jenny recovers deeply repressed memories of violence, rape and neglect.

In order to jog Jenny's memory, Amaro & Fin obtain childhood photos from Jenny's mother and discover inappropriate images of Jenny when she was a little girl. When the photos are run past the FBI, it is revealed that Jenny is a girl called \"Lacy Unknown\" whose pictures & videos were popular with online pedophiles.

Jenny is later shown at a private facility to help her recover and appears okay. She later testifies at a hearing where a man was pleading guilty to possessing an obscene image by a child. The defendant apologizes for his actions and pays $20,000 in restitution.

This episode as tragic as it was did not live up to the hype of being a heartbreaking episode for the victim. Good acting by the victim but not much else. It did however cast a light on a dark corner of the internet and that child pornography is not a victim less crime. And at least I learned there is legal recourse for the victims.The whole Bensidy issue was not handled well at all. I know Dean Winters has got Battle Creek going for him but he did mention in an interview on YouTube that he would like to keep coming back (albeit he said that a year ago). But they could have kept it going on in the story lines like how they did with Kathy Stabler. Even the ending was somewhat vague and ambiguous, so much so WL had to tweet the last last page of the scene.For me personally, Seeing Cassidy and Benson together was something I wanted since season 1 and for two seasons I got what I wanted. But seeing the way the seasons unfolded and they way Bensidy was treated, after 20 years of watching the franchise, I'm done watching. I'll come back when they bring Bensidy back together.

As a divorce and custody attorney, I can tell you that most courts, judges, attorneys, and police will do their best to make sure that the child is reconciled with the parents or parents. Most states give parents a plethora of opportunities to do better. No state wants to tear a child from his or her mother mother after one offense, especially if the child came to no harm and there was no intent to harm. And yes, 10 days is a very short time to get a final judgment in a civil action, but obviously this is a TV show. It doesn't make any sense to prolong the episode for the year or two it would normally take in a case like this.

Jenny later got addicted to drugs, moved in with a man who pimped her out, and then said man gave her to his brother as a \"wife\" when she got pregnant. Karma Houdini: Jenny's mother suffers no repercussions for her treatment of Jenny, not even a verbal smackdown, since the detectives play up to her belief she did nothing wrong, to get information, and then just leave her be. Her life seems to be pretty miserable though. Loophole Abuse: Barba finds a way to use \"joint-and-several-liability\" to force a CEO (who was among the list of people who looked at one of the Lacey Unknown videos) to pay for the sum total restitution the forensic team said Jenny was entitled to, rather than force her to collect it bit-by-bit from each offender. Mama Bear: Jenny's instincts around her daughter are a bit skewed (due to her own repressed trauma) leading to some questionable decision-making and a tendency to see danger that doesn't really exist (for example, believing that her husband will rape her daughter if he gets the chance), but she's clearly determined to ensure that her daughter has a happy and safe childhood and never has to go through what Jenny did as a child; later in the episode, it's largely for her daughter's sake that she works so hard to overcome her problems. It's especially notable in contrast to Jenny's own mother, who not only allowed the abuse to happen but blamed Jenny for it. Marital Rape License: Jenny's husband raped her repeatedly, so the team decides to \"see if he's dumb enough to get him to admit to something he doesn't realize is a crime.\" He does, even chuckling and saying \"you can't rape your wife\". Please, I Will Do Anything!: During interrogation Amaro slightly raises his voice at Jenny (he's justifiably angry at her for abandoning her child for days but he doesn't do or say anything out of line) and she gets scared and quickly promises she'll do anything he wants. Such overreaction leads the detectives to think she must have been abused to the point where she's afraid of all men. Take a Third Option: Caught between Jenny having no restitution from the men who watched her Lacey Unknown videos, and the daunting tasks of taking each and every one to court, Barba realizes that the law actually technically holds each man liable for all the damages, and therefore he can force a wealthy CEO (who has more than enough net worth to cover the seven-figure sum) to give Jenny the full amount that she is owed, using the man's upcoming sentencing as leverage. Said CEO can either take the hit or chase down the other pedophiles to recover each of their share; either way, it's his problem now. Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: According to Jenny's mother, Jenny tried to unzip a mall Santa's pants when she was seven. The detectives clearly recognize the scenario as a red flag that a child has been sexually abused, but Jenny's mother just took it as more proof that Jenny was \"trouble\". Useless Bystander Parent: Jenny's mother turned a blind eye to what her husband was doing to Jenny, unless it was to blame Jenny herself for it.

A Reno man was recently sentenced to five years in prison for downloading and sharing child pornography on public computers at the Washoe County Public Library and casino for several years, according to the U.S. Department of Justice in the District of Nevada.

Phillip Bradley Sanderson, 26, was indicted by a grand jury in early May and pleaded guilty 10 days later to one count of receiving child pornography. He was sentenced Monday by District Judge Miranda Du, officials said.
